Question: |
I was photographing some new additions to my collection and came across an interesting side note for the Sun and Moon Pot. I'm attaching a photo of the piece with its SIAB box and a tent card. The interesting thing is that the tent card refers to the piece as the "Jules Verne Urn". There is also an item number on the card (as well as on the SIAB tube). I'd really be interested in finding out the story behind the name!

I was commissioned to carve the Sun and Moon Pot by SIAB but I had nothing to do with naming the piece. I can only assume that the name came about because of the association of 'Time Travel' with Space and the planets etc.

Question: |
I have a question about Zodiac Pots. There are ten "tile" pictures carved around each of them. When Adam was carving these pots, how did he chose the images for these "tiles"? Where they meant to be related to particular Zodiac signs and did they have some astrological meaning?
|
Lueze: |
Adam carried out lots of research when he carved the Zodiac Pots, every carving on the side of the pots relates to that particular Zodiac Sign.
